Exeter Maternity Photographer

Elegant & Timeless Maternity Photography in Exeter and Devon.

01 / 96

This is a truly special and fleeting chapter of your life, and maternity photography allows you to preserve it in a timeless and meaningful way.

The best time for a maternity photoshoot is between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, when your bump is beautifully rounded and you are still feeling comfortable and relaxed.

During your session, I will gently guide you throughout, helping you feel natural and at ease in front of the camera so we can create soft, elegant and timeless portraits.

Maternity sessions are available in my Exeter studio or at carefully chosen outdoor locations across Devon.

You will have access to a selection of beautiful dresses from my Maternity Outfit Collection, or you are very welcome to bring your own outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Partners and children are always welcome to join the session, making it a meaningful experience for the whole family.

My goal is to create a calm, enjoyable experience while capturing honest and emotional images that reflect this incredible stage of your life.

If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ section below or feel free to get in touch- I would love to hear from you.

Let me help you tell your beautiful story.

FAQ

Is a Maternity Photoshoot Worth It?

Pregnancy is a unique and special period and I want to tell you is that a photoshoot can be a wonderful experience. Whether you come alone, with your partner, or with your children, treat it as a moment for yourself, just before welcoming the new family member. Allow me to capture you in a tender and gentle way. Show me who you are. Invite your partner to join. Let it be a date, a pleasant time together. Is it worth capturing the time of pregnancy in photos? Absolutely!

What if this is my first photoshoot and I don’t know how to pose?

No worries at all! It’s completely normal to feel unsure about posing, especially if it’s your first photoshoot. My job is to guide you through the process and make you feel comfortable. I’ll give you simple directions and suggestions to help you look your best. Just relax, be yourself, and enjoy the experience. We’ll capture some beautiful moments together! If you have any specific ideas or poses in mind, feel free to share them with me. 😊

When is the best time to book my maternity session?

The ideal time for maternity photoshoot is between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. Your belly is beautiful round, but you are still comfortable enough to pose and move around.

What should I wear for my session?

Whether you’re having an outdoor or studio session, you can use my outfits ( Once you’ve booked your session and paid the deposit, I’ll send you link to the catalogue of available dresses, wraps, and bodysuits. Then, you simply choose what you like 🙂).
But obviously you can bring your own clothes. I can suggest some versatile items that always look great in photos: an oversized white shirt (borrow one from your partner’s wardrobe!), jeans, dungarees, and dresses that highlight your bump. If you’re not a fan of dresses and prefer to see yourself in a t-shirt and jeans (or any other clothes), let’s go with what you love! This is your session, and you should feel good and comfortable! :) Remember, you are the priority here. Just let me know which styles resonate with you, and we’ll decide together what you should bring to the session.

If you’re thinking about accessories, a wreath or a hat can work well ( I have some of them in my studio).

Also, remember to bring suitable underwear. The best options are comfortable sets in two colours – black (or dark colours) and beige (ecru, nude, or neutral colours – perfect under dresses).

Maternity Photoshoot – What to Bring?

I’ve put together a short list of essentials:

*Bring a lip balm
*Powder for minor touch-ups.
*A hairbrush.
*Comfy Underwear (two sets – one light and one dark).
*Outfits and shoes as we discussed before the session.
*You can also bring ultrasound photos or small baby shoes if we plan to include props in the photos.

Makeup and Hair – Should You Book an Appointment Before the Photoshoot?

Remember, there’s no pressure and you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to 🙂 I’m a firm believer in the principle – if you feel like getting your makeup done before the session, go for it, and the same goes for your hair. If you prefer doing your makeup at home, come as you are. I recommend paying a bit of attention to your hair – style it with a brush or simply blow-dry it upside down (a great trick for adding volume). Nicely styled, fresh hair adds vitality to any woman’s photos. Above all, remember – the most important thing is to be well-rested and relaxed.

I truly value your natural beauty. Whether you want to enhance it with professional makeup or prefer a minimal or no-makeup look, you have my full support and acceptance. My goal is for you to feel like yourself, comfortable and happy during the session 🙂 I often emphasise this because it’s genuinely how I feel.

Can partner and other children be included in the session?

Of course, but only in midi and maxi package. Including partner and children can make the session even more special and create wonderful family memories.

What partner end other children should wear for family photo shoot?

When choosing an outfit for your husband/ Kids, aim for clothes without large logos, text, or patterns. The best options are t-shirts, long-sleeve tops, or shirts in plain colours like white, black, grey, other muted or pastel colours. Natural fabrics like linen and cotton look best in photos. For trousers, jeans or chinos work well.

If you’re having trouble deciding, feel free to send me photos of the clothes, and we can create 2-3 outfits for your session together.

What happens if someone in the family is sick?

If someone from your household has D&V bug ( diarrhoea and vomiting), fever or other disease sypmtoms within last 48h it is very impotant that to contact me and reschedule your photoshoot. Due the fact that I am working with newborns and other babies it is essential that they are not exposes to viruses.

What if the weather is bad on the day of my outdoor session?

If the weather doesn't cooperate, we can reschedule the session or move it to the studio. Your comfort and safety is my priorities.

When will the photos be ready?

Within 7 days you will get email with link to your online, password- protected gallery. When you will choose your favourites i will get info about your order. Digital photos are ready usually within 1 week after photo shoot and will be ready to download from your gallery. If your package included prints, it may take a little bit longer, because on the end of each month I send one big order to the photo lab. Usually I have them after 5 days but it depends how the lab is busy. You can collect them from my studio or I can post them for extra charge £5.50.
